Top entertainment for 2016
December 18, 2015It’s hard to believe that 2015 is nearly over, but already it looks like 2016 is going to be an incredibly exciting year. With some thrilling blockbuster movies, fab sporting events and even some world-changing political elections, you can bet that 2016 will keep us all on the edge of our seats!
Comic book fans will definitely be treated in 2016 as two of the most iconic superheroes go head-to-head with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. This should go down as one of the biggest cinema releases in history, although other films in 2016 such as X-Men: Apocalypse, Independence Day: Resurgence and Star Trek: Beyond should all guarantee some spectacular box office revenues.
But it’s not all sci-fi and comic books at the cinema, as the recent Golden Globe awards nominations have revealed that Leonardo DiCaprio’s The Revenant could provide him with his first Academy Award. Already sports betting sites such as Betway have started speculating the odds on the Titanic star winning an Oscar which definitely poses the question; what’s the most obscure betting market you’ve seen?
One such market would definitely be political affairs, and it’s the turn of America to face the next big political shake-up when the American presidential elections take place on 8 November. The race for the White House has already provided a great deal of entertainment with Donald Trump’s endless series of gaffes showing just how interesting it could get as the pressure increases.
If the news television channels all get a little too much, then sci-fi fans should be relieved to know that the next series of Doctor Who will be filmed in spring, whilst the replacement of Jeremy Clarkson with Chris Evans should mean that the return of Top Gear will be an unmissable TV event, although many are betting that the famous redhead won’t last too long in this prestigious series.
However, for those who like betting on highly unfavourable odds, then England try their luck at the hugely-anticipated Euro 16 football championships that begin in France on 10 June. The month-long competition promises to deliver the best in football entertainment and should once again transform the country into a nation of face-painted football experts for one month only.
And with many other top events and attractions to speculate on ranging from who will be the winner of the Grand National on 9 April, to who provide be the latest gory death in the next series of Game of Thrones, it looks like you can bet that 2016 will be a thrilling year for all!
